Top Film & Television Apps on iOS in Ghana Q3 2021

The third quarter of 2021 saw notable trends in the performance of the top five film and television apps on iOS in Ghana. Here’s a closer look at how these apps fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users.

Netflix experienced varying weekly revenue, peaking at about $147 in late June and fluctuating throughout the quarter. Downloads remained relatively steady, with a notable increase to 5.6K in late August. Active users saw a significant rise from approximately 78.8K at the beginning of the quarter to nearly 94.5K in late August, before settling around 87.4K by the end of September.

DStv Stream did not generate revenue during this period but showed a steady growth in downloads, reaching a peak of 2.7K in mid-September. The app's active users increased from 19.3K at the start of Q3 to approximately 23.5K by the end of the quarter.

StarTimes ON had modest weekly revenue, peaking at $13 in late June. Downloads showed a downward trend initially but stabilized around 1.4K towards the end of the quarter. Active users fluctuated slightly, with a peak of 4.1K at the start, and ended the quarter with about 3K active users.

MyDStv Africa did not record any revenue but saw a steady increase in downloads, particularly peaking at 1.5K in late August. Active users also grew, starting at 5K and reaching nearly 7K by the end of September.

Movies Box had minimal revenue, with a peak of $25 in mid-July. Downloads remained consistent, averaging around 900 weekly with a slight increase to 1.1K in early September. Active users followed a similar trend, rising from 830 at the start of the quarter to 1.2K in early September.
